    ABSTRACT

We report a Down syndrome case with progressive deterioration of cognitive functions and myoclonic seizures. She had generalized tonicclonic seizure (GTCS) as well. The EEG showed slight diffuse slowing with frontal sharp-waves. Myoclonic jerks and GTCS persisted after lamotrigine; however, these seizures subsided with levetiracetam. Epilepsy in Down syndrome is associated with dementia, and all these points suggest that a common underlying physiopathology may exist.
