ABSTRACT

Musicogenic epilepsy (ME) is a rare form of reflex epilepsy characterized seizures induced by music. A 29-year-old woman had epileptic seizures for 3 years, when she had listened arabesque music. Cranial magnetic resonance imaging and interictal electroencephalography (EEG) were normal. Complex partial epilepsy accompanying crying and anxiety, and seizure activity on right temporal region in EEG were seen, while the patient had been listening music. Emotional experiences in ME support the role of lymbic system on those seizures.
