Aims and Scope

Archives of Epilepsy (Arch Epilepsy) is a scientific, open access periodical published in accordance with independent, unbiased, and double-blinded peer-review principles. The journal is the official online-only publication of Turkish Epilepsy Society, and the journal is a quarterly publication, published on March, June, September, and December. The publication language of the journal is English and the journal accepts English manuscripts. The authors of the Turkish articles are required to send English version of their article after their manuscript is accepted.

The aim of the journal is to publish original research articles of scientific and clinical value on epilepsy diseases. The Archives of Epilepsy also publishes reviews, rare case reports, and letters to the editors.

The target audience of the journal includes specialists, researchers and professionals who working and interested in the fields of psychiatry, neurology, psychology, behavioral sciences, and neuroscience. 

Archives of Epilepsy is indexed in Web of Science-Emerging Sources Citation Index, Scopus, EBSCO Academic Search Alumni Edition, EBSCO Academic Search Complete, EBSCO Academic Search Elite, EBSCO Academic Search Ultimate, EBSCO CINAHL Complete, Gale, ProQuest, J-Gate, DOAJ and TUBITAK ULAKBIM TR Index.

The editorial and publication process of the Archives of Epilepsy are shaped in accordance with the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)Council of Science Editors (CSE)Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and National Information Standards Organization (NISO). The journal is in conformity with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

All expenses of the journal are covered by the Turkish Epilepsy Society processing and publication are free of charge with the journal. No fees are requested from the authors at any point throughout the evaluation and publication process. All manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission system, which is available at https://archepilepsy.org/. The journal guidelines, technical information, and the required forms are available on the journal’s web page.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Author(s) and copyright owner(s) grant access to all users for the articles published in the Archives of Epilepsy as free of charge. Articles may be used provided that they are cited.

Open Access Policy is based on rules of Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). By “open access” to [peer-reviewed research literature], we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.

Archives of Epilepsy does not demand any subscription fee, publication fee or similar payment for access to electronic resources.
