ABSTRACT
Objectives:
The aim of this study is to determine the frequency and context of cyclic alternating pattern (CAP) in healthy young adults using sleep EEG recording.
Methods:
Nineteen healty young adults underwent an 8 hour sleep video-EEG-PSG recording. After the first evaluation, CAP parameters were scored in 16 cases who have no sleep diseases.
Results:
Mean CAP rate was found 25.95% in total NREM; A1 CAP rate was 20.51%, A2 CAP rate was 3.56% and A3 CAP rate was 1.91%.
Conclusion:
When our results are compared with the other studies, CAP rate is lower but the context of CAP is similar. The results are important because of determining the CAP parameters in healthy population.
