ABSTRACT

A twenty-seven-year-old woman presented with complaints of tonic-clonic seizures. Left-sided atrophy was found in her upper and lower limbs. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain showed hemiatrophy in the right cerebral hemisphere. A diagnosis of Dyke-Davidoff-Maşon syndrome was thought. Sodium valproate was initiated for epileptic seizures, after which her symptoms improved. No recurrences of seizures were seen during a followup period of 1.5 years.

Geç Başlangıçlı Epilepsi ile Başvuran Bir Olguda Dyke-Davidoff-Maşon Sendromu

Yirmi yedi yaşında kadın hasta, geçirdiği jeneralize tonik-klonik nöbetten sonra kliniğimize başvurdu. Sol üst ve alt ekstremitelerinde atrofi vard ı. Kraniyal manyetik rezonans görüntülemede sağ serebral hemisfer hemiatrofisi gözlendi; hastada Dyke-Davidoff-Maşon sendromu düşünüld ü. Epileptik nöbetleri için sodyum valproat tedavisi başlanan hastanın nöbetleri kontrol altına alındı; 1.5 yıllık izlem süresince nöbet tekrarına rastlanmadı.
